Harland E. Borcherding passed away on February 7, 2007 in Kennewick at the age of 73.  Harland was born on November 5, 1933 one of eight children born to August and Ellen Borcherding of Fremont, Nebraska.  Harland grew up in the Fremont, Nebraska area and graduated from Fremont high school.

Harland married LaDelle Schoenwald on January 1, 1989 in Kennewick at the First Christian Church when it was located on 3rd avenue.     He worked for Battelle, Boeing and Westinghouse as a photographer before retiring.  Harland enjoyed his years of square dancing, being a member in both the Computer clubs, Koi Club and being a volunteer for the Kennewick Police Department.

Preceding Harland in death are his parents, his brothers Ernest and Donald and sister Ruth. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Julie and infant son Loren, along with two grandchildren Alexander and Alysha.

He is survived by his wife LaDelle of Kennewick, children Bradford, Dena, and Harlanda.  He is also survived by his stepchildren Daniel, Tim, Craig,  and Bradley Smith Schoenwald.  His grandchildren are Vanessa, Ryan,  Teah, Evan, Ty, Matt, Sue Anne, Jessica, Daniel, Andrea, Jeremy and Madison.   Brothers Milton and Floyd "Butch", sisters Dorothy and Mildred

There will be a funeral service for Harland on Monday, February 12, 2007 at
the First Christian Church, 1921 S. Olympia, Kennewick at 1:00 p.m.  with a
graveside service following at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, corner of 10th
Ave. and Union, Kennewick.
