Oregon Koi and Water Garden Club's Grant Article

Oregon Koi & Water Garden Society rented booth space at the 2015 Plant & Garden Expo, put on by the Douglas County Master Gardener’s May 2nd.

Our Club booth was set up with koi and pond pictures.   It turned out to be a really nice exhibit of what our club is about.  We must of talked to dozens of people who have ponds, and a few with just water gardens, that did not know our club existed. We had 3 people join our club and quit a few who said they would come check out our Koi Show in June.  This was also a great way to promote our Koi Show.  The poster was a great addition to our booth.

All in all I thought the day was a great success.

Thank you

Northwest Koi and Goldfish Club

On Sunday, April 12 the North West Koi and goldfish Club had a booth at the Camilla Festival in Portland Oregon.  Our goal was to educate the public about keeping fish. Also our own Linda Montgomery gave a talk about the differences between a koi pond and a water garden and it was very informative. We had five goldfish and four koi in a three foot show tank. The public viewing the fish was very excited and lots of people started thinking about building a water garden or a pond. It being a garden festival many people had water gardens already and were invited to join our club. The event organizers invited us back next year because our booth was such a success. It was a very good event overall and the public was educated about keeping our pets safe.
