To All PNKCA Representatives
and Past Chairs It seems like winter just keeps hanging in there with just a few teaser days of what spring
has to offer us. We still have snow covered grounds at our home here at Hayden Lake, Idaho, with the morning temperatures
hovering around the low teens. And yes, here it is, the end of February approaching and then we slide into the month of March.
Now it's time to plan for the Spring Representatives Meeting in March. It will be held at the La Quinta
Inn in Tacoma on Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 AM. We hope to see as many of you as possible. If you are not able to attend
please ask another member to attend to represent your club. The PNKCA will pay for all the Representative lunches, but if
you would like to bring your spouse we will charge only what La Quinta charges PNKCA. Please be sure to contact Carmen
Stafford, PNKCA Secretary (castafford@charter.net ) and let her know that you will be attending.
There are a few other items that we are asking all club representatives
to please take care of prior to the meeting. Make sure that your club has sent in their dues for 2009 since only paid-up clubs
can vote on any decisions made at the meeting. Also, if your club has a show or pond tour please let Phyllis (phyllisemail@aol.com) know your dates for these events as she is updating the 2009 Convention and Show poster. If you haven't
sent Carmen your list of new club officers, please do so since we need the PNKCA Club Officer list updated. Another
very important item: if your club would like to apply for the $150 PNKCA promotional grant, the application needs to be received
prior to the March 14th Representatives Meeting, no applications will be accepted on or after that date.
There are also several awards that you need to bring to your club’s
attention soon: the PNKCA Ed Fujimoto Inspirational Award (due March 31st), and the Bronze Koi Award nominations (due
March 31st), the PNKCA Koi of the Year nomination (due May 1st). We have had problems in the past with the clubs getting the
nominations in on time, so please mention these awards at your next club meeting. All the information and forms are
available on the website.
The meeting will begin at 11:00 AM to give us all a chance to arrive and
greet one another with lunch being served at 12:00pm. The business meeting will begin at 1:00 PM after lunch.
The Representatives should be prepared to give a brief overview of what their club agenda is for 2009. The agenda for
the meeting is still being formulated. The tentative agenda will be sent out soon. If you have any items you wish included,
please contact me as soon as possible. Our goal is to have our business completed by 4:00 PM that afternoon so those
who have Ferry and border crossings to deal with as well as those folks that have long distances to travel, it is possible
to return home without having to stay overnight.
Elsie, Carmen, Lucy, Phyllis and I look forward to seeing you all March
14th. Please do drive safely when coming. Gene Anderson Chairman, PNKCA Email: koipondman@aol.com
